How to get there?
From San José
Drive west towards Puntarenas on route 27 and then follow the Interamerican highway towards Liberia. Once in Liberia, you must continue along the same highway for about 55 km (34 miles), turn left towards El Jobo, and continue for another 17 km (10 miles) until you reach Rajada beach. This route requires a total of 5 to 6 hours from San José.
From Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR)
Drive northeast in the direction of Liberia. Once in Liberia, you must continue along the same highway for about 55 km (34 miles), turn left towards El Jobo, and continue for another 17 km (10 miles) until you reach Rajada beach.
By bus:
From the San José – La Cruz route (Transportes Deldú, +506 2256-9072) which takes about 6 hours and from there take another bus with the Route La Cruz – Puerto Soley – El Jobo, from there you can make a stop or stay in the bus until El Jobo. Once there you can walk or take a taxi to the beach of your preference.
Also, you can take a bus from the San José – Liberia route (Pulmitan, +506 2222-1650) which takes about 5 hours, from there take another bus with the Liberia – La Cruz route (Empresa Arrieta, +506 2665- 7530) which takes 1 hour, and from there take another bus with the route La Cruz – Puerto Soley – El Jobo, which can take approximately 30 minutes with departures 3 times a day. From there you can make a stop or stay in the bus until El Jobo. Once there you can walk or take a taxi to the beach of your preference. In both cases it is recommended to buy the ticket a day before to secure your space.
