
Puntarenas is located in its western zone covering most of the Pacific coast of the country. It has an area of 11,265 km², which makes it the largest province in Costa Rica.
The province has a varied landscape, including high mountains, valleys, beaches and coastal landscapes. Its climate is dry tropical, with two well-defined seasons. It has numerous protected areas of great biological wealth, such as Cabo Blanco, Manuel Antonio, Monte Verde and Corcovado.
Puntarenas holds most of the most beautiful and beaches in the country such as Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Uvita, Drake bay, Santa Teresa and Montezuma.
