A beautiful building stands in the central park of Palmares, if you ever happen to go through this town you should stop by and look at the church, this marvelous piece of art was done by multiple workers, who carve the rocks to fit the perfect dimensions of an harmonic structure. April 22nd of 1894 was when the construction got started and in April 21st of 1956 it was consecrated by Monsignor Juan Vicente Solís, Bishop of Alajuela.
The park is very clean and it also has a little playground, during the beginning of the year they have the “Fiestas de Palmares” when they usually ride their horses, have rodeos and concerts. This season brings the local tourist to this area.
Palmares is located near the Juan Santa Maria airport, on the way to Puntarenas through the old road.
